What is Pediatric Physical Therapy?

The goal of pediatric physical therapy is for the child to have fun while improving their movement, motor development, coordination, balance, and strength.

Pediatric physical therapy differs from traditional (adult based) physical therapy, with one of the biggest differences being that it is centered around play.

A pediatric physical therapist assists children to become more independent in their home, school and community environments.

Kathryn is a member of the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association).  She knows the importance of evidence-based practice, in order to make clinical decisions for the best results.  She recognizes that each patient is unique and what works for one child/family may not work for another.  Kathryn focuses her treatment sessions by involving family members/care-takers in the implementation of goals.  She enjoys educating family/caregivers and speaking to other disciplines, involved in the patient's care, in order to achieve the best outcomes and meet goals.  Kathryn looks forward to meeting you and treating your child.
